Above is a photograph of the array control console. The ten VLBA antennas continuously transmit "monitor data" to the Array Operations Center in Socorro, New Mexico over the Internet. This data is decoded and displayed on these monitors. The small monitor on the left shows a list of current problems as diagnosed by software running on a computer at each of the antennas. The large monitor on the left shows various items such as what each antenna is observing, the current weather at each antenna, equipment temperature and pressure readings, the local time at each antenna (the VLBA spans seven time zones), and other status information. The large monitor on the right is the console display for the array control computer that receives and displays all of this information. The small monitor on the right keeps a running log of all activity on the array.
