...uhhh, quite literally when you think about it, and if you happen to spend any time outside during the summer.
Las Vegas is a pretty nice place to hang out. I was in Las Vegas in April of 2003 for a couple of days to visit relatives. I hadn't been there since the 1960's. They've built a few things since then. Like Paris below.
I took this night shot when I was in there in April.
Since we had a part of the afternoons off we did get to do a bit of sightseeing when we could keep ourselves awake. Below are Adam Hemsley, Hyun-Mee, and Jim in front of the Venetian Hotel Resort Casino, and shopping mall, and water spectacle, and performing arts center, and, and, and...
One of the entryways to the Venetian is below. It looks nice, but a lot of the "detail" was actually just painted on, and was not really objects like they would be if this really had been Venice. I thought that was kind of cheap. I guess a couple of billion dollars just doesn't build the same kind of building that it used to.
This isn't outside. It's inside. They have an actual canal, complete with gondolas and singing pilots, running throughout the building. People that have been to the real one say that this Venice smells better.
The goddess of slot machines at Caesar's Palace. The Greeks were more advanced than we thought.
This is a picture of the old animated statue display at Caesar's Palace that I took in April. I didn't get a picture of the new statue/show which is an order of magnitude larger.
The entrance to the Bellagio Hotel Resort Casino.
I was at the Bellagio Casino in April, and it looks like they change the
display in the garden every so often. The garden was still decorated for Independence
Day when I was there for this experiment in mid-July. Is that how big the
real Liberty Bell is? Heck, this was Vegas. That could actually have BEEN
the real Liberty Bell for all I know.
