Everyone got up pretty early the morning after the shots and started picking up all of the Texans that were placed out in the field the previous day. Around 3:30pm the vans and trucks started arriving back at the warehouse where the data was downloaded. The instruments had to have the geophones disconnected, be placed into the transcases, connected up to power and the data cables that run to the computer bridges, and then have their data downloaded. It took about 25 minutes to download all of the data from 45 Texans (~1.4MBs of data per Texan). This would have been fine, except that the warehouse was supposed to close at 5:00pm! Some phone calls were made and we got the closing time pushed to 7:00pm. By standing around looking innocent we were able to push the time to 7:15. This allowed us to finish getting all of the data and most of the packing finished.
When the data download from a set of Texans was finished the Texans were disconnected from the transcase, the bottom removed, and the two D-cell batteries taken out. This made them lighter for shipment. The Texans were then placed back into the transcases which were stacked on pallets for shipping back to Socorro. As the last sets of transcases finished downloading the bridge computers, monitors, power supplies, and associated cables were packed up and also strapped to the pallets.
