More of the houses that were left. The ones in the picture below were buried up to the second floor. The ones that are not in the pictures are...gone.
Below is a huge apartment complex. It was far enough away from the river, and backed up close enough to the mountains, that it was not damaged.
Remember, this is a year and a half after the mudslides occurred.
I hope there wasn't anyone in the truck below when the mudslide hit.
These buildings, actually what's left of them, were on the banks of a very small river bed west along the coast that probably quadrupled in width which sheared off parts of the buildings. You can see the large rocks that were left behind.
