Dragging all of my telescope stuff over to the local observatory on the weekends was working out OK, but for some real fun I was going to need to get out of town and away from the hustle and bustle...and the lights. Mostly the lights. We don't have a lot of hustle and bustle. So I bought a portable astronomical unit in the form of a 2017 Aliner Classic 15. After a few changes it should work out well for those weekend getaways...and longer ones.
Oh yeah. This is looking better already. Above is camping at Quemado Lake, NM in August, and The Milky Way with my Canon T6i, 14mm f/2.8 lens, 30 seconds during the same trip. The glow is from the camp fire.
